David Mandél
David Mandél grew up with a guitar around his neck. Born and raised in Lower Austria in a very musical family with the whish to become a rockstar, he soon discovered his love for the intimacy of the acoustic guitar. By age 14, he was filling concert halls with solo shows as well as his own compositions and arrangements, both on guitar and for large ensembles. Since then, he has worked with some of Europe´s most refined artists in the genre, such as Adam Rafferty or Max Raabe, and has been awarded numerous prizes for his compositions.

His debut album homecoming marks a return to Mandél´s roots in Fingerstyle Guitar, but is also a deeply personal document.
The „Homecoming“ tradition celebrates a return of former students to their old schools, which functioned as a home, breeding ground and place for growth. Listening to the emotive tracks on homecoming, it quickly becomes apparent, that the album is much more than a simple revisit of the school of guitar playing with which Mandél grew up. Each song is a deeply felt expression of gratitude towards a very specific person who supported, inspired, challenged or in any other way shaped the artist Mandél is today.
